Showa Denko to Expand Share in Chinese Heat Exchanger Unit

Showa Denko started study to increase the share in Chinese aluminium condenser joint evaporator making joint venture in Dalian from 35% to around 55%. The firm will increase the share in first half of 2007 and sends president for the venture. The firm tries to control the venture to expand the heat exchanger business in China through the more than half of controlling share.

Showa Denko established the joint venture to meet higher demand for heat exchanger of automobile air conditioner under growing demand. The venture is 5th plant of heat exchanger for Showa Denko. The Chinese venture tries to meet higher demand in the country preparing for Olympic game in 2008 and Expo in 2010. The joint venture increases the output capacity to annual 700,000 units.

Showa Denko tries to expand the heat exchanger business under the mid-term business plan. The firm will improve the profitability through the expansion for Chinese business including heat exchanger.
