Ferrous scrap market price is around 29,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Tokyo. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 35,000-36,000 yen for H2 grade. Tokyo Steel Manufacturing increased the purchase price to compete with export price. Other local makers followed the move to increase the purchase price. The market price is expected to keep firm under increasing export price.
