Japan Galvanized Sheet Price to Rise against Consumer Electronics Makers

Japanese integrated steel makers would agree with Japanese consumer electronics makers in Asia on price hike for surface treated steel sheet by US$ 40-50 for July-December 2006 shipment. The steel makers had advanced the price negotiation with the consumer electronics makers since 2006 and already reached an agreement with some users.Japanese consumer electronics makers had disapproved the hike when they could not pass increasing material costs on their selling prices. However, they accepted the hike to reflect higher zinc prices.Japanese steel makers will start the negotiation soon for the export prices for January-June 2007 shipment and aim to raise the prices because zinc price might keep increasing.
