Ferrous scrap market price is flat at 33,600 yen per tonne for pressed new cutting scrap and 32,600 yen for new cutting grade without press at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level with support by export price. Hyundai Steel of South Korea offered around FOB 40,000 yen per tonne for Japanese new cutting scrap to Japanese dealers at the weekly tender on Wednesday. The offer was 500 yen lower than previous tender. The price level in FAS meets scrap purchase price by local electric furnace steel makers. The makers are likely not to reduce the price to compete with the export price. Ferrous scrap market price is also flat at around 29,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
