China to Expand Steel Reduction Policy to Whole Land

National Development and Reform Commission in China showed an idea against steel industry growth policy that a province which is set reduction target of steel production capacity, is expand to 30 provinces from 10 provinces. China spread the reduction measure of steel production capacity to whole China. The commission told Hisazumi Ando, steel section manager of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan, in the end of last week. Chinese government showed the will to lead the reduction of excess capacity. The ministry will cooperate to the commission for healthy growth of Chinese steel industry. However, Chinese raw steel output renewed highest in April and Chinese export keeps high level. Hisazumi Ando said the ministry watches the progress of Chinese reduction. The ministry and the commission had talk for the problem of steel capacity reduction in China and for holding of Steel Task Force of Asia Pacific Partnership (APP) which have issue for clean development and climate or dispatch of expert for energy saving and environment diagnosing from Japan to China.The commission wrote the reduction of pig iron making capacity by 22.55 million tonnes and of steel making capacity by 24.23 million tonnes in 10 provinces in contract in the end of April. The commission showed the policy to spread in whole land.
