Nakayama Steel Works announced on Tuesday the firm increases the selling price of carbon steel wire rod and wire rod for tack used for building and civil works by more than 5,000 yen per tonne for July shipment. The firm also reduces the order intake by 10-20% compared with second half year to March 2007. The firm said the carbon steel wire rod price is relative lower than other items even after the firm increased the price for March and May shipments. The firm tries to improve the profitability to pass higher cost for ferrous scrap, subsidiary materials, energy and freight. The firm reduces the order intake when the steel source supply is tight and is expected to keep tight.
