Ferrous scrap market price decreased by 500 yen to 21,400 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, to 24,400 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and to 23,400 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep weak due to slower shipping from Tokyo bay. Local electric furnace steel makers pay around 27,000 yen per tonne for turning scrap and some pay as high as 28,500 yen. With lower purchase price by steel makers, the dealers try to reduce the purchase price from the market. Ferrous scrap market price is also weak at around 27,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
