Flat Plate Steel Price in Tokyo

Plate steel market price is flat at 80,000 yen per tonne for base size with 19 millimeters thick, 5 feet width and 10 feet long and more than 95,000 yen for plate with cutting process around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep the range when the dealers try to secure certain amount of sales volume. The major processors increase the processing volume due to recovering demand for bridge and major building projects. However, the plate dealers’ shipment is still slow when their dealing volume keeps decreasing in years due to major trading firms supply more materials to steel structural fabricators to commission the fabrications. The makers are busy to ship contract users and the demand is expected to increase when major projects including expansion of Haneda airport start the procurement. The makers try to keep the delivery schedule under the full capacity operations. The delivery is expected to get tighter in and after July and could delay for distributors market.
