Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery Supply New Pickle Line/Cold Mill to SeverStal North America

Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery with Hitachi, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi International Corporation accepted the order of a Linked Pickle Line and Tandem Cold Mill (PL-TCM) with initial annual capacity of 2.1 million short tonnes from SeverStal North America (SNA). Contract sum is about 13 billion yen.SNA is a core unit of OAO Severstal, one of Russia’s largest steel produces, in North America. SNA has main plant in Dearborn, Michigan and is supplying hot, cold and surface treated steel sheet to automobiles and service centers. The firm will introduce new world class pickle process and 5 stands universal crown control mill for the response for higher quality request by users.SNA will start hot run of PL-TCM after 24 months. In second phase, the firm will expand the capacity of PL-TCM to 2.6 million tonnes per year.Moreover, Mitsubishi Corporation announced on Thursday the firm accepted the order of welded steel tube plant with Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery and Nakata Company Limited from Russian steel pipe maker, Uraltrubprom. Contract sum is about 10 billion yen. It is largest as contracted plant from Russia by Mitsubishi Corporation.
