Japan Small Steel Bar Export Rises by 24.9% in February

Japanese small bar export was 43,580 tonnes in February, which was 57.5% higher than January and 24.9% higher than a year earlier, according to Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The export increased by 49.8% to 22,579 tonnes for USA with firm construction demand and by 75.7% to 16,455 tonnes for South Korea from January. The export increased by 49.9% for USA and by 40.3% from a year earlier. The export was 3,488 tonnes for Vietnam. The billet export was 66,508 tonnes in February, which was 4.1% lower than January and 3.9% lower than a year earlier. The export was 32,665 tonnes for South Korea, which was 1.7% lower than January and 27.4% lower than a year earlier. The export was 22,425 tonnes for Taiwan, which was 2.5 times of January and 2.4 times of a year earlier. The export was 5,953 tonnes, which was 73% lower than January and 51.4% lower than a year earlier. The export was 3,048 tonnes, which was 3% lower than January and 73.3% lower than a year earlier.
