Nippon Steel Keeps Order Reduction in July

Nippon Steel announced on Tuesday the firm continues order cut for H-beam for distributors in July contract. The firm didn’t accept all order from dealers and reduced an accepted order by 20% with the condition of dealers or area compared with November 2006. The firm will cut an order at the same level in June. The demand is recovering. The inventory of some size products was short. But the firm reduces the supply due to slower shipment. Moreover, the firm keeps the selling price in July for 4 months.The firm’s building construction business department source said the firm considers scheduled repairing in Sakai iron works from the ended of July for 3 weeks and reduces an accepted order or right inventory level.Japanese distributors’ H-beam inventory held by Tokiwa-kai, which is group of dealers dealing Nippon Steel’s products, decreased at the ended of June in 2 months due to decreased storing, according to the firm. The supply adjustment by makers is influencing to the inventory. The firm will more adjust the supply by an order reduction.
