Ferrous scrap market price is flat at 29,500 yen per tonne for H2, at 31,800 yen for H1 and 33,500 yen for HS at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level with competing price by domestic and offshore buyers. Japanese scrap export price increased to FAS 35,450 yen per tonne for H2 grade from Tokyo bay for August shipment at monthly export tender held by Kanto Tetsugen on Thursday, which was 220 yen higher than previous month. The price is meeting the purchase price by local electric furnace steel makers. The balanced market price could keep the level in the month, said a dealer source. Stainless scrap market price is weak at around 150,000 yen per tonne for new cutting SUS304 grade with 18% chrome and 8% nickel and around 140,000 yen for turning grade scrap around Osaka.
