Aluminium Alloy Bar Keeps Flat in Nagoya

The market price of aluminium alloy bar keeps flat in Nagoya at around 835 yen per kilogram for 17S grade alloy, at around 1,165 yen per kg for 24S grade alloy and at around 795 yen per kg for 56S grade alloy.

Local demand for aluminium alloy bar maintains steady from large contract users such as automobile related industries, while stays low from dealers and distributors. Some dealers say the demand shows recovery sign for test products related to automobiles. Aluminium alloy bar shipment is almost smooth from the makers to the dealers, though delivery lead time is longer in some of large diameter products.

Some dealers sustain the reselling price to reflect the decline of primary aluminium ingot price by 10 yen per kg for July-September and the previous cost up for primary aluminium ingot price and the processing charges they haven’t pass on the reselling price so far.

Domestic primary aluminium price is likely to decrease in October-December from previous quarter due to the weak tone of resent aluminium market at overseas. However, dealer source says aluminium alloy bar users keep their purchasing volume unchanged despite of the expectation for primary aluminium price down. Aluminium alloy bar price would maintain flat for a while.
