Nippon Steel expanded the galvanizing steel output by 10.3% to 4.76 million tonnes in fiscal 2006 ended March 2007 from fiscal 2005 incresaing the market share by 1.5 points. Japanese galvanizing steel output increased by 5.2% to 14.54 million tonnes under firm demand for automobile. Sumitomo Metal Industries increased the output by 8.2% and the share by 0.3 points in fiscal 2006 from fiscal 2005 while Kobe Stele increased the output by 6.3% and the share by 0.1 point. JFE Steel increased the output by 1.8% and Nisshin Steel increased the output by 3.7% while they reduced the share by 0.8 points and 0.2 points respectively. Most of the other makers’ output was almost flat due to slower demand for buildings.
