Aluminium turning scrap market price keeps relative high level around Tokyo though secondary alloyed aluminium makers reduced the purchase price by more than 20 yen per kilogram for second half of August. The turning scrap price decreased by around 10 yen while the new cutting scrap price dropped by 25-30 yen. Alloyed aluminium makers used to make Al-Si-Cu grade or ADC12 in Japanese Industrial Standard by using machinery casting scrap before. However, they shift to sash with screw and turning scrap when Japan increases machinery casting scrap in years. They tend to use turning scrap due to the relative low price. Secondary alloyed aluminium market price increase to 303-308 yen per kg compared with 190-195 yen in September 2005. The import decreases due to relative higher offshore market price. An alloyed aluminium maker source said die-casting makers reduce the purchase volume of high priced secondary alloyed aluminium by using turning scrap in their plants. The more recycling reduces the turning scrap supply for the market.
