Japanese aluminium construction materials output decreased by 5.9% to 28,902 tonnes in July from a year earlier, announced by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on Friday. The shipment decreased by 4.5% to 33,716 tonnes. The demand was slow due to housing applications while the building sash demand recovered. The housing sash demand was slow when the shipment and production decreased by more than 10% in July from a year earlier though the decrease was narrower than before. The building sash demand increased slightly. The demand for aluminium door and exterior was still lower than previous year level.
