Strong Plate Market Price in Tokyo

Plate steel market price is strong at 82,000 yen per tonne for standard size with 19 millimeters thick, 5 feet width and 10 feet length and 98,000 yen for cut processed materials. The market price keeps rising trend after the last half of August due to scant inventory. The order to cut sheet is slow. Because the demand for the plate keeps good situation, the supply is expected to be short. Dealers are avoiding selling cheap price for the secure of the inventory, and keep selling price.Nippon Steel announced the price hike of the plate by 3,000 yen per tonne from the contracts in October due to short supply. Other makers are expected to raise the selling price. Searing processors will pass the increasing purchase price on the reselling price of cut sheet. However, searing processor source said the firm can’t raise the reselling price due to no enough work. Some processors are expecting small and middle size building construction objects would appear in concrete form after October.
