H-Beam Price to Reach 80,000 yen/t in Tokyo

H-beam market price could reach 80,000 yen per tonne around Tokyo when the distributors try to pass the makers hike on the reselling price. The market price is firm at 79,000-80,000 yen for base size with 200 by 100 millimeters width. The distributors’ stock increased by 6.1% to 59,200 tonnes at end of August from July, according to Tokiwakai, which is group of distributors dealing Nippon Steel’s products. The dealers’ shipment decreased by 10.7% while the arrivals from makers increased by 24.5%. Nippon Steel will reduce the supply more to distributors depending on the stock and market condition for each dealer. The dealers seek higher price tough the shipment is still slow in September. They try to keep the stock with expectation for tighter supply when the demand improves toward peak season and the makers reduce the supply for dealers’ market. The dealers’ also expect the makers could hike the selling price additionally in the year.
