Ferrous scrap market price is firm at 34,000 yen per tonne for H2, at 36,300 yen for H1 and at 38,000 yen for HS grade at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep firm with higher consumption and higher export price. Japanese scrap export price increases and electric furnace steel makers around Tokyo in the month. Hyundai Steel of South Korea increased the offer to FOB 39,500 yen per tonne for Japanese H2 grade scrap at weekly tender on Wednesday, which was 500 yen higher than previous offer. Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 29,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
