Tokyo Debar Steel Reduces Sales by Over 20% in October

Tokyo Debar Steel, Godo Steel and Tokyo Tekko’s sales subsidiary, reduces the selling volume by over 20% from October compared with the same month of last year. Because the demand is decreasing due to the revision of building standard law, the firm reduces the selling volume with the demand level. In additionally, the firm increased the rebar selling price for the size with 19 millimeters diameter to 73,000 yen by 3,000 yen per tonne from the contracts in October. The firm’s shipment volume decreased by 1% for April-July compared with the same period of last year, but the shipment decreased by 5% in August from a year ago due to reduced building construction projects and decreased by 10% in September from a year ago. Makers’ purchasing price of ferrous scrap increased to 40,000-42,000 yen per tonne for H2 by 4,000-5,000 yen after September around Tokyo.
