Japanese domestic production and shipment of nonferrous metals and related products represented year-to-year increase in August for 5 items among 16 items of the statistics by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Production and shipment increased for electrolytic copper and aluminium rolled products while decreased for copper rolled products and electric cables. Copper product users seemed to minimize their procurement in August when copper metal price roughly fluctuated.
