Flat H-Beam Price in Tokyo

H-beam market price is flat at around 80,000 yen per tonne for base size with 200 by 100 millimeters width around Tokyo. Dealers’ shipment is slow due to the revision of the building standard law. The market price keeps the same level for a month. Dealers would like to raise the selling price additionally due to makers’ price hike. However, dealers’ price hike is blocked by slower shipment.Japanese distributors’ H-beam shipment by Tokiwa-kai, which is group of dealers dealing Nippon Steel’s products, decreased by 19.9% in September from August. Dealers’ sales decreased to 12,900 tonnes by 16.2% for H-beam in September from August around Tokyo, according to Tokyo Steel Product Dealers Association. Dealer source said his firm’s shipment was the worst in September. Makers’ product which was increased in August is being delivered to dealers. Dealers must raise the selling price for the securement of the profit.
