Flat H-Beam Price in Tokyo

H-beam market price is flat at around 80,000 yen per tonne for product with 200 by 100 millimeters width without freight around Tokyo. Dealers’ shipment is seemed to slightly increase in October compared to September. However, dealer source said the shipment was overly wrong in September. Dealers keep the selling price due to increased purchase price. Dealers are trying to raise the selling price for the improvement of the profit, but can’t raise due to demand slump. Each dealer will increase the selling price by 2,000-3,000 yen per tonne. Dealers’ profit was pressured when they are getting high priced arrivals from makers.Dealers’ price hike needs the strong demand. It isn’t clear when the demand recover. It is the best dealers can keep the selling price. They may come by credit risk if they would try too hard sell.
