Toyo Aluminium to Raise Capacitor Aluminium Foil Price

Toyo Aluminium, Osaka based aluminium fabricator, announced on Monday the firm raises the rolling charge for capacitor aluminium foil by more than 30 yen per kilogram for mid and high voltage and by more than 40 yen per kg for low voltage and negative electrode effective for shipment on and after 1 February, 2008.The firm previously announced the rolling charge hike by 30 yen per kg effective for shipment in and after April 2007. However, the firm has not achieved the hike fully yet. In addition the firm became suffered from higher productive costs such for fuels, rolling oils, packaging materials and distributions due to the upsurge of crude oil price. The next hike incorporates these factors.Capacitor aluminium foil demand is expected to continue increasing especially for digital appliances. Toyo Aluminium announced the hike to maintain the stable supply. In Japan, Showa Denko also announced the rolling charge hike for capacitor aluminium foil by 7-15% or 20-100 yen per kg effective for October shipment.
