Flat Large Diameter Square Pipe Price in Tokyo

Large diameter square steel pipe or column price is flat at around 102,000 yen per tonne for STKR grade and at around 110,000 yen for BCR grade including cut and groove process charge for product with 12 millimeters thick and 300 width around Tokyo. The dealers couldn’t pass higher cost price under very slow building demand under transition process for new building standard law. With the demand condition, the price is likely to keep the level. The dealers’ shipment increased by 17.2% to 3,092 tonnes in October from September, according to Tokyo Steel Product Dealers Association. However, the daily shipment was lower than September. The dealers have only around 2 days order backlog for the processing under very slow demand. The dealers still try to pass the higher cost price on the market after the makers increased the selling price by 5,000 yen per tonne in July. Some dealers said they need 3,000,-5,000 yen more to secure profitability. However, the price is likely to keep the level at least in the year under slow demand.
