Firm Plate Price in Tokyo

Plate market price is firm at 82,000 yen per tonne for standard size with 19 millimeters thick, 5 feet width and 10 feet length. The dealers’ shipment keeps slow for building material due to delay of construction work starting by the revision of Japanese building standard law. Meanwhile, the shipment keeps good for such as construction machinery. Searing processor source said the demand for building construction doesn’t recover within this year. Dealers’ inventory doesn’t run short due to slower demand. However, the inventory of standard products is decreasing and went short with some size.The supply and demand isn’t tight. Cut processed steel plate price is rising from bottom and is closing to 100,000 yen per tonne when searing processors are increasing the selling price due to makers’ price hike. The market price is expected to change to strong tone due to increased purchasing price by dealers or limited availability for dealers despite of slower demand.
