Flat Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at 22,900 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, at 25,900 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and at 24,900 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level under tight supply from the market. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 28,000-29,000 yen per tonne for turning scrap and some makers pay around 30,000 yen. The scrap generation is low level in the market. A dealer source said the dealers’ shipment couldn’t increase if electric furnace steel makers would increase the purchase price. Ferrous scrap market price is also flat at around 29,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
