Japan Aluminium Products Shipment Rises by 2% in April-September

Japanese aluminium products shipment increased by 2.0% to 847,966 tonnes including rolled products, casting and die-casting in April-September from same period of 2006, according to Japan Aluminium Association and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The demand keeps increasing mainly for automobile industry. The rolled products shipment increased by 0.9% to 158,232 tonnes in April-September from same period of 2006. The car and motorcycle demand lifted the shipment despite of slower output for truck and bus. The casting shipment was almost flat as same period of 2006 despite of the slight drop. The die-casting shipment increased by 3.8% to 470,544 tonnes including motorcycle and car. The forging products shipment decreased by 6.2%.
