Flat Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 22,900 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, at around 25,900 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and at around 24,900 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level with no new factor. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 29,000-30,000 yen per tonne for turning scrap and some makers pay as high as 31,000 yen. They increased the purchase price by 500-1,000 yen last week when scrap shipping FAS price from Tokyo bay increased under tight local supply. However, the shipping from Tokyo bay is expected to keep low level. Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 29,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
