Japan Steel Export Drops by 1.1% in November

Japanese steel export decreased by 1.1% to 2.9 million tonnes in November from a year earlier, announced by Ministry of Finance on Thursday. The export value increased by 2.2% to 317.47 billion yen. The steel import decreased by 10% to 650,796 tonnes while the value increased by 7.5% to 78.443 billion yen. The steel export volume decreased by 19.4% to USA and by 37.3% to European Union in November from a year earlier while the export increased by 6% to Asia. The export to China decreased by 8%. The export value deceased by 8.1% to USA and by 13.5% to EU while the value increased by 9.2% to Asia. The export value to China increased by 4.3%. The export increased by 11.5% in volume and by 11.2% in value to Asian Newly Industrializing Economies. The export to Middle East decreased by 38.7% in volume and by 17.3% in value. The steel import decreased by 41.2% from USA, by 23.8% from EU and by 5.1% from Asia in November from a year earlier. The import from China decreased by 41.3%. The import value deceased by 22.2% from USA, by 23.2% from EU and by 11.2% from China. The import volume increased to more than double in volume and by 50.3% in value from Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The import from Russia decreased by 52% in volume and by 31.9% in value.
