H-Beam Price Jumps in Tokyo

Construction steel market price increased sharply around Tokyo. The price increased by 4,000-6,000 yen to 86,000 yen per tonne for H-beam, 82,000 yen for equal angle and 87,000 yen for channel at dealers’ site without freight. The distributors try to pass higher cost price after price hike announcement for February shipment by Tokyo Steel Manufacturing and Osaka Steel. The distributors are still aggressive for higher price and the market could increase more. The dealers try to pass 2,000-3,000 yen per tonne of higher cost price from past makers’ hike. They try to improve the profitability when the other H-beam makers could increase H-beam price for distributors.
