Sankyo Material Commercializes Mg Alloy Pipe Material

Sankyo Material, an affiliate of Sankyo-Tateyama Holdings, announced on Tuesday the firm started commercial shipment of magnesium alloy pipe material for lens tube frameworks of Canon’s broadcasting cameras. Three kinds of AZ80 extrusion pipe materials are adopted. AZ80 is the strongest magnesium alloy for extruding applications, which had been difficult to be reformed and manufactured. The firm realized commercial shaping of AZ80 for the first time in Japan.Commercial production of AZ80 products was realized by magnesium extruding technology, mold producing technology and heat treating technology developed by Sankyo-Tateyama Aluminium. AZ80 has been used as bar materials for building structures with its advantage of high strength, while difficult to be reformed.AZ80 extruding pipe material has stable inner quality, which is free from air or dust containing, and better circularity at a rounding part. Strength of AZ80 extruding pipe material is 1.4 times as high as AZ91.
