Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 42,500 yen per tonne for H2, at 45,800 yen for H1 and at 47,900 yen for HS at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep firm with tight local supply and strong offshore demand. Local electric furnace steel makers increase the scrap purchase price while the scrap export price increases. Hyundai Steel of South Korea increased the offer by 1,500 yen to 49,000 yen per tonne for Japanese H2 scrap at weekly tender on Wednesday. Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 40,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
