Japanese stainless scrap import decreased to 12,970 tonnes by 13% in January from a year earlier and by 24% from last month due to Chinese demand recovery or reduced output of Japanese stainless makers, which reached at 10,000 tonnes 4 consecutive months, according to Ministry of Finance. The import from South Korea decreased to 2,430 tonnes by 54% in January from a year earlier though increased to 7,000 tonnes in last year. Meanwhile, the import from USA increased to 7,630 tonnes by 102% in January from a year earlier. Japanese stainless scrap market price is rising with increased export price to China.
