H-beam market price is firm at around 105,000-106,000 yen per tonne for base size with 200 by 100 millimeters width around Tokyo. The dealers try to increase the reselling price after the largest maker of Tokyo Steel Manufacturing increased the price by 15,000 yen for April order. The dealers try to find the way when and how much they should increase the reselling price depending on other makers’ move. The dealers’ inventory is tighter than before in March when the shipment and arrivals from makers were in line with February. The inventory kept decreasing for 3 months in a row while the makers’ shipment to dealers could increase toward end of fiscal year to March. Many dealers purchase the material from integrated steel makers. The dealers cannot cite the Tokyo Steel’s hike for their price hike campaign when Tokyo Steel’s price is apparently around 10,000 yen per tonne higher than integrated steel makers’ prices.
