Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 46,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade, at around 49,800 yen for H1 and at around 50,100 yen for HS at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep firm under tight local supply. Scrap export transaction price increases while the local electric furnace steel makers increase the purchase price. Hyundai Steel of South Korea offered FOB 53,500 yen per tonne for Japanese H2 grade at weekly tender on Wednesday, which was 1,000 yen higher than previous tender. The offer price was in line with purchase price by local steel makers. Ferrous scrap market price increased to 44,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
