Mitsubishi Aluminum Expects 3.7% Higher Sales Volume in 1H

Mitsubishi Aluminum announced on Wednesday the firm plans monthly averaged sales of aluminium rolled products at 15,865 tonnes during April-September 2008, increasing by 3.7% from the corresponding period of 2007. The sales volume is expected to increase by more than 500 tonnes per month year-on-year thanks to steady demand mainly for plates and extrusions from automobiles.The monthly averaged sales of aluminium plate are estimated at 13,350 tonnes during April-September, increasing by 2.9% year-on-year. Demand is expected to increase from automotive heat exchangers, cans, air conditioner fins, presensitized plate and base sized material plates.The firm estimates the monthly average sales of aluminium extrusions would increase by 8.2% to 2,515 tonnes during April-September from the same period of the previous year. Demand would increase from automotive heat exchangers though decrease from motorcycle and automobile parts.The monthly averaged sales of aluminium foil would increase by 8.9% to 1,794 tonnes thanks to strong demand from capacitors.
