Strong Structural Carbon Steel Bar Price in Tokyo

Market price of mechanical structural carbon steel round bar is strong at 130,000 yen per tonne for carbon steel for machine structural use and 160,000 yen for chrome-molybdenum grade around Tokyo. The demand keeps good situation for automobile or construction machinery. Steel makers’ supply isn’t keeping up with the demand.Japanese dealers’ inventory keeps flat at 179,600 tonnes in March from February, according to Japanese special steel dealer association. Japanese dealers’ sales keep flat at 165,000 tonnes in March. Major dealer source said many size inventory becomes short for mainly S45C when speculate demand was generated and makers’ supply term is lengthened.Makers’ supply is running rate when makers are buckling down supply to strings-attached users such as automobile or construction machinery. Makers increased selling price from April shipping. Major dealer source said first price hike penetrated from April shipping, but second price hike may require time from July shipping.
