H-Beam Dealers to Raise Reselling Price, Japan

H-beam dealers aim to raise the reselling price around Tokyo and Osaka. The market price is at 119,000 yen per tonne without freight from dealers’ warehouses for 200 by 100 millimeters width around Tokyo and at 125,000 yen around Osaka. The price upsurge speed slowed down around Tokyo when Nippon Steel set the selling price unchanged for the contracts during April-June. The trend is same around Osaka since the demand settled down after April. Dealers expect H-beam makers would raise the selling price for the contracts after July. The market price could hit 120,000 yen around Tokyo and 130,000 yen around Osaka.Dealers’ inventory rate is about 2 months against the shipment, which decreased compared with February-March around Tokyo. Some major dealers in Tokyo currently accepted H-beam orders from dealers in Osaka when the market stocks are relatively short around Osaka and the market price is lower in Tokyo than Osaka.At the same time, dealers are concerned about the higher clean risks in June. Dealers are carefully electing consumers. Dealers anticipate the market price rise when makers’ selling price increased to over 130,000 yen per tonne to general contractors or ferrous scrap price is increasing.
