Japan Coke Import Price Rises in April

Japanese coke import unit value increased by 1.7% to CIF 50,300 yen per tonne in April from March, which reached to 50,000 yen since June 2004, according to statistics by Ministry of Finance on Monday. The import unit value is expected to rise when Chinese coke export price exceeded at US$ 500 per tonne or 52,500 yen.Coal import price increased by 29.3% to CIF 12,500 yen per in April from March. Chinese and American strongly caking coal prices reached at around 30,000 yen per tonne. Meanwhile, some prices remain last prices. International coal price is likely to rise after June.
