Flat Carbon Steel Wire Price in Tokyo

Carbon steel wire price is flat at around 128,000 yen per tonne for 4 millimeters diameter around Tokyo. The price could increase but it is as early as July due to 5-10% lower shipment by the dealers from May while the wire products makers increase the selling price in July. The makers increase the selling price by around 20,000 yen per tonne when wire rod makers increase carbon steel wire rod price from late June to July. The wire products makers try to pass the higher cost price and the dealers also try to increase the reselling price. The products makers and dealers are reluctant to build the inventory due to slow market. The buyers resist the additional wide hike after hike in April. The products makers and dealers try to pass wide cost up on the downstream players while the suppliers are cautious potential insolvency of the buyers due to surging steel price.
