JFE Steel and ThyssenKrupp Steel agreed to extend early vendor involvement activity in Japan for another 2 years from fiscal 2008 starting April through the joint venture, JEVISE Corporation. They launched JEVISE in May 2005 to improve the technical approach to Japanese automakers as a part of the alliance. They try to improve the activity combining JFE Steel’s knowledge for Japanese automobile and ThyssenKrupp’s knowledge for European automobile. They try to serve automakers’ effort to reduce weight and improve safety and energy efficiency. JEVISE has technical themes to develop solution with Japanese automakers and automotive parts makers. The firm tries to expand the theme from original high tensile steel application for body to automobile structure.
