Strong H-Beam Price in Tokyo

H-beam market price is strong at 107,000 yen per tonne for 200 by 100 millimeters width around Tokyo. Dealers are raising the selling price for shifting of increased purchasing price. Some dealers’ selling price reached at 115000 yen per tonne when reduced supply or anticipation of additional price hikes by makers.Dealers’ inventory around Tokyo decreased to below 2 months of shipment in March from 2.4 months in the ended of February. Some size products became short. Dealers would like to keep the inventory when makers are reducing the supply to dealers. Dealers are raising the selling price due to shortage of supply.Makers are likely to raise the selling price due to rising material price and tight supply of the material. Dealers will raise the selling price when the selling price of Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, Japanese biggest H-beam maker, is higher than dealers7 selling price.
