Plate cut end scrap price declined for 4 weeks in a row from the beginning of this month around Osaka. The price dropped by total 31,000 yen per tonne during the period.
Local major maker reduced the purchase price for cut plate end scrap by 5,000 yen per tonne in late last week. The scrap dealers’ purchase price decreased to around 19,900 yen for cut plate scrap and around 22,900 yen for small cut plate end scrap for cupola use. A trader source said integrated steel makers need a higher grade scrap to reduce the production cost. But the scrap price would keep weak under slower demand.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
