TOPY to Triples Production of Frame Material for Railway Wagon

TOPY Industries resumed production of frame material for rail way wagon, which is fabricated by welding 2 asymmetry sections, for the first time in 23 years. The firm aims to increase the output to 1,500-2,000 tonnes per month in future from 500 tonnes.

The firm aborted the production of material in 1985 due to the high production costs for the firm had to clad by welding the surface of sections based on the rolling technology at that time. The firm developed new technology to produce the frame material in January 2007 by introducing the new original rolling analysis and improving the process.

TOPY developed the frame material for the wagon in 1980 but the production by rolling technology of the time required cladding by welding but the process was higher cost along with low operating rate and low yield. But the firm planned to restart the production when the largest rail way wagon maker in USA sought TOPY to resume the production.

TOPY improved the rolling analysis technology significantly by introducing original system based on 3-D rigid plastic finite element method and technology, which forecasts the quality and temperature of the rolling material. The American largest wagon maker appreciated the frame material when TOPY delivered the sample in December 2007.
