Daiki Aluminium to Idle Secondary Al Plant in Aichi

Daiki Aluminium Industry stops the secondary aluminium ingot production at Shinshiro plant around Nagoya from April for a while under the global automobile recession, announced on Friday.

Daiki Aluminium’s shipment of secondary aluminium ingot for foundry and die-casting decreases month by month. The production of 5 domestic plants has decreased to below 10,000 tonnes per month from around 30,000 tonnes by July 2008.

The firm has already revised down the production plan to 10,900 tonne at Shinshiro plant for October 2008-March 2009 when the demand for automobile has begun to decline. The production was 21,165 tonnes for April-September 2008.

The firm operates magnesium chloride refining and other facilities at Shinshiro even after idle for secondary aluminium in April.
