Flat Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 5,400 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, at around 5,900 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and at around 5,400 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level despite of lower consumption.

Local electric furnace steel makers pay 10,000-11,500 yen per tonne for turning scrap around Tokyo. The supply is also low level when the supplier of automakers and appliances makers stopped the operations during yearend and New Year holiday. The dealers expect the scrap supply could increase in and after next week.

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 7,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade at the dealers’ purchase price around Osaka.
