Mektec Manufacturing to Add A Flip Chip Making Line

Flexible printed circuit making Nippon Mektron’s Thai subsidiary, Mektec Manufacturing Corporation (Thailand) expends 270 million yen in 2009. The firm will increase a line to make flip chip totaling 2 lines.

Nippon Mektron controls 75% of Mektec Manufacturing with 25% share by Hong Kong based company. Mektec Manufacturing with 200 million baht was established in 1994 and makes flexible printed circuit.

The Thai company expands the production year on year. The production was around 300 million units of parts with around 15.8 billion baht of sales in 2008. The firm plans 17 billion baht of sales in 2008.

The firm imports copper foil from Nippon Mining & Metals and other Japanese makers. The consumption is around 20,000 sheets per day for resin coated copper sheet with 250 by 300 millimeters width and 18 micro meters thick.
