Medium sized square steel pipe market price is firm at around 121,000 yen per tonne for product with 2.3 millimeters thick and 100 mm width and at around 130,000 yen for colored products at dealers’ sites around Tokyo. The price could increase more when the dealers’ try to pass additional 10,000 yen higher cost price on the market. The dealers’ shipment is slow due to slump for small sized building activity. The supply is reduced by the makers due to limited availability of the material hot coil. The supply is balanced to the lower demand. The makers increased the selling price by 15,000 yen per tonne for July shipment. The dealers already passed 5,000 yen of that on the market. They try to increase the price 10,000 yen more to cover the higher cost.
